After a successful career in civil engineering and owning and operating his contracting company in Quebec City, Pierre turned his attention to the marine industry in 2000. From 2000 to 2010, he specialized in the shipbuilding of fibreglass vessels, structural components of hulls and decks, redesigning electrical and plumbing systems and woodworking. In 2010, he acquired his fourth-class engineering tickets and serviced different organizations, including the Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian Coast Guard. His deep knowledge of Fiberglass, marine electrical systems, hull and deck integrity and marine diesel mechanical systems have led Pierre to serve as lead project manager for all fleet vessels of organizations such as the Artic Research Foundation and Peace Navigation in the tugboat industry, where he oversaw fleet refits.
With over 24 years of experience in commercial and pleasure craft shipbuilding, marine systems, and diesel mechanical engineering, he is now offering his deep knowledge of the marine industry as a marine surveyor and diesel mechanic surveyor to service Vancouver Island.
